Jeffrey R. Donowitz, MD

Dr. Donowitz is Assistant Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University and completed his internship and residency training in general pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. He remained at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond for his clinical fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and completed a research fellowship at the University of Virginia. Currently, Dr. Donowitz’ main research interests focus on small intestine bacterial overgrowth as it relates to environmental enteropathy and growth stunting in children from low-income countries. He lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with his wife Katherine who is also a pediatrician.
