"SIBO Pattern Recognition with Case Examples"

SIBO is currently expressed as hydrogen producer, methane producer, mixed and hydrogen sulfide producer based on the gas patterns. Clinical experience, however, shows that additional patterns can be defined not only based on the gases, but also based on clinical response to therapies and the difficulty that one may experience in eradicating SIBO and/or preventing recurrence.
Our experience shows that certain SIBO patterns should point to underlying mechanisms that promote persistence or recurrence of SIBO. Clinicians may use this information to consider additional investigation to better understand the root cause leading to ongoing illness.

Learning Objectives:

-
Recognizing SIBO as a biologic marker of systemic illness.
-
Pattern recognition in SIBO clinical scenarios.
-
Learning practical tips for case examples.
