Mission Statement
Synergy CME Resource Group is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the development and presentation of integrative continuing medical education. Specific focus is given to broadening the array of educational programs for medical subspecialties that are currently being under-served or overlooked.
Integrative Continuing Medical Education - A New Perspective
Synergy CME Resource Group offers two operative functions in the field of medical education. First, we offer our own select conferences and learning opportunities on select topics that we recognize as being underserved or underdeveloped within the medical community. While each program is unique, there is a continued emphasis on integrative medicine and how it can be applied in practice, research, and education.
The second function of Synergy is to assist outside organizations and individuals in the development and execution of their own integrative programs. In this capacity, Synergy offers creative support with regards to curriculum and program content and may serve as the event coordinator both on and off-site if necessary.
The ultimate goal of Synergy is to offer a comprehensive online library of integrative continuing medical education (CME) material, as well as a minimum of 4-6 live conferences per year. Each conference should feature a topic that is either currently overlooked in the medical profession, or one that clearly demonstrates the value of integrative medicine.
Our combined intelligence has the highest IQ.
Synergy’s educational programs encourage inter-professional discussion, inspiring awareness and cooperation within the medical community. Each one of our conference programs is designed to reflect the strength of integrative medicine, demonstrating the value of various perspectives as they relate to one particular topic. Our past speaker line-ups have represented a variety of medical fields such as naturopathy, osteopathy, nursing, research, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, nutrition, massage therapy, mental health, chiropractic, pharmacy, dentistry, genetics, mind-body awareness, biofeedback and allopathic medicine. In 2019, we look forward to including veterinary medicine, physical therapy, and surgical procedures, and environmental science and medicine.
Synergy’s conferences are typically presented in a two-day, single-track format. Conference goers are able to attend in person, or via live webinar, and recordings of the conference proceedings are made available post-production. Active panel discussions scheduled throughout the conference program give attendees the opportunity not only to witness inter-professional dialogue, but also to ask questions and elicit advice from a “team” representing various angles of expertise. The goal of this approach is to demonstrate the value of integrative medicine to both the educators and the attendees, thereby encouraging future interdisciplinary exchange in the practice setting.
